Meet Amanda Barnett
Amanda is the owner of Lacon Fitness and Tan and has a degree from Illinois State University in Exercise Science. Her favorite thing about working out is the way it makes her feel. She loves personal training because “watching people reach their goals is an amazing privilege. Seeing people accomplish something they didn’t think they could do reminds me that I have the best job in the world”. Amanda lives at home with her husband Cliff, their three spunky kids, two cats, and two Australian Shepherds.
Meet Gessi Anderson
Hi, my name is Gessi Anderson and I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and the Director of Rehab at a nursing home. I live in Henry with my husband and beautiful daughter, who is my world. I recently received my Personal Training Certificate after my up and down journey with my weight. I love to kayak, trail ride on our 4 wheelers and just spending quality time with my family. I have finally found a routine and rhythm at LFT that has made me feel better than ever. I am thrilled to start training and instructing 2 of my favorite gym activities: kickboxing and strength training. I hope I can make someone’s fitness journey the best possible to help them enjoy and maintain a constant routine for life!
Meet CJ Ray
Hi my name is CJ! I got into fitness about 5 years ago when I decided I wasn’t happy with my body. Working out has helped me manage stress and helps keep me in a very positive mood. I’ve lived in many different places but Lacon has always been home. I love the friendly and supportive environment here at LFT and nothing feels better than seeing people achieve their goals. I am so glad to be a part of the LFT team and look forward to working with everyone in the gym!
Meet Caleb Wampler
Caleb grew up in Streator playing baseball, basketball, and soccer. After him and his family, wife Susan and three kids, moved to Varna, Susan and him decided to join Lacon Fitness and Tan. Caleb had been in and out of fitness his whole life but after joining Lacon Fitness and Tan in January of 2017 he made a commitment to become healthy long term. He attributes his healthy commitment to being at a place in his life where he wants to keep up with his health and the comfortable atmosphere Lacon Fitness and Tan offers. Besides working out, Caleb enjoys working on home improvement projects and traveling. When asked what made him decide to become a personal trainer he said that he understands the struggle to keep motivated to workout and he wants to help people get and stay motivated through taking classes and personal training.
If it has been a while since you have worked out or if you have a specific fitness goal in mind, Lacon Fitness and Tan offers individualized personal training to meet your goal. Our trainers have the appropriate education and/or certifications to make sure you are getting the best (and safest) training possible.
Sessions typically last one hour and can be purchased in a package to accommodate your goals time frame. Each package must be used in 4 weeks from the first training. Completing 4 weeks of training makes you eligible for a Platinum Membership, which includes one personal training session a month.

- Team training is offered for groups of 2-5. Each person in the group receives 25% off the training rate.
