A personal trainer can be just what you need to hold you accountable, create new and fun workouts for you, and help you achieve your goals.
Meet Diane Wells
I moved to this area in November of 2015 after I retired from a Chicago suburban police department. I’m a mom, I’ve got a twenty-two year old son who lives in Seattle. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading, kayaking, and fishing. I initially got into fitness when I decided, at the age of 27, that I wanted to be a police officer. I thought “well, I better get myself in-shape” and it was a challenge. At the time, I smoked – so I had to quit smoking and I had to start running and I had never run. But once I got through the initial hurdle and got through the police academy , it was just a matter of wanting and needing to maintain some level of fitness for my job. Through the years, what I’ve realized that exercise is a great stress reliever. I started looking forward to it, and enjoying it. It’s just a part of my routine, like people get up and brush their teeth, I get up, brush my teeth and come to the gym. It’s not so much a, “oh my gosh I have to go to the gym” it’s “Ok, it’s what I do” so it has made it way easier. I think people who can make it just a part of their routine, will find it easier too. Setting aside a certain time every day will take a lot of thinking and concern out of it. My biggest tip would be don’t think of it as a chore, but something you are doing for yourself. It will get you to the point where your daily living routine comes easier because you’re stronger, can do more, and feel better. So, just try to find a consistent time slot that’s dedicated to working out and it’ll make it so much easier than trying to find time to fit it in every day.
Meet Ashley Manley
Ashley is wife and stay-at-home mom that also happens to love yoga. She is a 200-hour CYT (certified yoga teacher) that finds the vinyasa-style, a flow connecting movement and breath, to be her happy place on the mat. Ultimately, she hopes to teach people that no matter what their flexibility or fitness level is, there is a place for everyone in yoga. When she isn’t touching her toes, you can find her chasing children or chickens around her backyard, sometimes both, with coffee in hand.
Meet Amanda Barnett
Amanda is the owner of Lacon Fitness and Tan and has a degree from Illinois State University in Exercise Science. Her favorite thing about working out is the way it makes her feel. She loves personal training because “watching people reach their goals is an amazing privilege. Seeing people accomplish something they didn’t think they could do reminds me that I have the best job in the world”. Amanda lives at home with her husband Cliff, their three spunky kids, and two Australian Shepherds.
If it has been a while since you have worked out or if you have a specific fitness goal in mind, Lacon Fitness and Tan offers individualized personal training to meet your goal.
