Member of the Month – Tony Colvin
Tony has been a member of Lacon Fitness and Tan since the doors opened in 2006. The combination of his positive attitude and hard core workouts are enough to motivate anyone and everyone around him. He has participated in many of the programs at Lacon Fitness and Tan, such as, 5k Training, Tough Mudder Training, The 100 Challenge, and more! He is a great example of what it looks like to make working out a habit.
Lacon Fitness and Tan: How long have you been working out and how did you get into it?
Tony: 14 yrs old, my dad bought a set of weights and a bench and I’m became obsessed with weight lifting
LFT: I see you in here a lot! What motivates you to workout so often?
Tony: I don’t feel like my day is complete unless I work out.
LFT: Cardio vs. Strength which is your favorite?
Tony: I love doing both. My least favorite is only being able to do one.
LFT: What is your favorite exercise?
Tony: Push ups and pull ups.
LFT: What is your least favorite exercise?
Tony: The Superman move.
LFT: Your workouts seem to be intense. Where do you get your ideas for your workouts from?
Tony: You tube, Lf&t staff, and I like to come up with my own routines sometimes.
LFT: When you aren’t working or at the gym, what do you like to do for fun?
Tony: Movies with my family, cycling, fish, hunt, hike, canoe, golf, and gardening.
LFT: What is your favorite thing about Lacon Fitness and Tan?
Tony: The diverse amount of group fitness classes, personal training, weight equipment, and cardio equipment allows anyone the opportunity to improve their fitness level. Also, definitely is all of the great people that I have met and the many friendships that have developed through the years and the new drinking fountain.
LFT: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Tony: I can’t do a sit up without someone holding my feet
LFT: What is your favorite “cheat food”?
Tony: Reese’s and sweat tarts
LFT: What advice do you have for other gym members?
Tony: Make your health priority #1 and everything else will fall into place and next time you’re in the gym and see someone new, say hello and maybe even introduce yourself.
