Member of the Month – Kristyn Young
Kristyn is a deserving recipient of this month’s member of the month because of her hard work ethic. She shows up in every way for every workout. She makes working out a priority even when it means coming in before most people are out of bed.
Lacon Fitness and Tan: How long have you been working out and how did you get into it?
Kristyn: I started running about 9 years ago and have worked out off and on since then. But the last 2 years I have been consistently going to the gym!
LFT: You are a dedicated gym member, how do you make it in so often (especially in the morning around 5:30 am)?
Kristyn: I LOVE morning workouts. You get in the gym before most people even think about getting up and get an awesome workout in and then start your day!
LFT: Cardio vs. Strength which is your favorite?
Kristyn: I like cardio because you can knock out a workout without much thought. However strength requires more thinking but there is such a great feeling when you accomplish something. So both, for for different reasons.
LFT: What is your favorite exercise?
Kristyn: I love deadlifts. There are so many different ways to do them and they work so many different things!
LFT: What is your least favorite exercise?
Kristyn: Literally anything that involves abs. I’m pretty sure I was born without abs.
LFT: When you aren’t working or at the gym, what do you like to do for fun? Just be with my friends and family.
Kristyn: I love to try to push myself to try new things and am lucky enough I have a friend I drag with me willingly.
LFT: What is your favorite thing about Lacon Fitness and Tan?
Kristyn: The people. 100%. LFT is a family and it makes it fun to come there and cheer everyone on towards their goals.
LFT: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Kristyn: I’m not a hugger. And like my personal space. Just kidding. Everyone knows that. For real though. I’m a better shot than my husband! And he’d be the first one to tell you that! We enjoy going out to the range!
LFT: What is your favorite “cheat food”?
Kristyn: Pizza and champagne. Didn’t even have to think about it.
LFT: What advice do you have for other gym members?
Kristyn: Find a buddy. It’s key for me to have someone to share the journey with.
