Member of the Month – Christy Beall
Lacon Fitness and Tan: How long have you been working out and how did you get into it?
Christy: I started working out the first part of January because my husband and I decided to make a healthy lifestyle change.
LFT: I see you in here a lot! What motivates you to work out so often?
Christy: I’ve made it a goal of mine to try and work out every day. However, that is not always possible.
LFT: You look amazing! I know you have recently changed your lifestyle to become healthier. Can you tell us about that?Christy: I try to do at least 20-40 minutes of cardio every day and rotate my work outs to include back/biceps, chest/triceps, shoulders/legs, and abs. I have also started eating healthier. I really try to eat foods low in carbs and fat. I drink a lot of water every day and try to avoid alcohol. Of course, I do have cheat days occasionally. The fact that my husband and I are both dedicated to a healthy lifestyle has made it so much easier. We work as a team and motivate each other.
LFT: Cardio vs. Strength which is your favorite?
Christy: I like cardio better.
LFT: What is your favorite exercise?
Christy: Rear delt flies
LFT: What is your least favorite exercise?
Christy: Bicep curls
LFT: When you aren’t working or at the gym, what do you like to do for fun?
Christy: Read, watch baseball, swim and hang out with family and friends.
LFT: What is your favorite thing about Lacon Fitness and Tan?
Christy: It is close to where I live and it offers 24/7 access.
LFT: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Christy: I’ve lost 35 pounds since January.
LFT: What is your favorite “cheat food”?
Christy: Peanut butter pie
LFT: What advice do you have for other gym members?
Christy: Working out is a great way to lose weight and get in shape, but I have also found that it is a great way to relieve stress. You really need to look at going to the gym and eating healthy as a lifestyle change and not just a diet.
